Dr. Andrew Gibb, PhD
Principal Investigator
Dr. Gibb is the Principal investigator of the Gibb Lab within the Center for Cardiometabolic Science at the University of Louisville. The multidisciplinary approach of the lab has focused on metabolism, energetics, fibrosis, exercise, and mitochondrial biology in the context of cardiac remodeling in both health and disease. Dr. Gibb's work has received international recognition in the form of numerous awards and publications in some of the most prestigious journals. He is a member of the International Society for Heart Research (ISHR) and the American Heart Association (AHA) and is actively involved in leadership committees with both organizations.

"The most exciting part of starting my own lab is forging ahead with my own ideas and training the next generation of scientists. I have found one of my favorite things about academic research is fostering creativity, excitement, and maturation of the trainees I have worked with. There is no greater joy than watching a mentee reach their full potential."
